In 2024-25, Mathical Books invites U.S. educators at public, private, and charter schools in PreK through 8th Grade to sign your classrooms up to join the first ever Mathical Powers of 10 Readathon! You can sign up anytime in the 2024-25 school year for this free, fun event:
This toolkit provides a list of resources available for registered participants, with more content added each month from September 2024 through June 2025. Additional details are covered in the Readathon FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions), or you can contact us at mathical@slmath.org.
Exploring the Mathical Booklist
The Mathical Readathon is all about reading and sharing any of the 152 books that have been named a Mathical Award Winner or Honor Book since 2015. (Even more winners will be announced in early 2025!)

- Download the grade-level Mathical Booklists
- Explore all Mathical winning books with educator resources via TeachingBooks.net (both free content and subscription-based content)
- View Mathical titles with free educator reading guides created by Mathical partner organizations
- See a list of Mathical books which have Spanish language translations
- Most Mathical titles are available for purchase through the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Bookshop.org store
- You may also find Mathical titles at your local library, school library, or other sources.

Sharing Reading Milestones for your Classroom or School
For those who would like to celebrate when milestones are reached in your participating classroom(s) or school, graphics for each of the Powers of 10 in terms of books read by individual students or as a classroom, including read-alouds. (For example, if you have 25 students in a class and the educator reads a Mathical book aloud to the group, you can count this as 25 “reads”.)
